Study in the United States

General Information

Thank you for your interest in exploring higher education in the United States - it's a great place to study and learn!  Whatever your academic interest, whether you want a large, small or medium-size school, you'll find virtually unlimited options in the United States.

Academic opportunity is only one reason to consider studying in the United States. Students here enjoy the freedoms of intellectual inquiry, political debate and open religious and artistic expression. Attending school in the U.S. also fosters friendship and understanding among students of different countries and cultures.

Nearly all of the colleges and universities in the United States benefit from the contributions of international students, including Hondurans. More than 565,000 students from 190 countries studied on U.S. campuses during the 2004-5 academic year.

Want to learn more about how you can study in the U.S.?  Visit the EducationUSA website  for guidance on how to pick the school that is right for you, processing a student visa, and other important information that you should consider.

The Centro Cultural Sampedrano also has an EducationUSA advisor who can sit down with you to discuss your options for studying in the U.S.  Santos Leonel Alvarado can be reached by calling CCS at (504) 557-2084 or emailing him at biblioteca_ccs@yahoo.com.
