Responsibilities of US Citizens Services Office and Consular Agent

The Consular Agent assists the Embassy in protecting the interests of U.S. citizens in Honduras. The Agent will be able to execute notarials, Reports of Birth Aboard and U.S. passport applications. The Agent will also assist U.S. citizens with emergency services such as arrests and deaths of U.S. citizens in Honduras.

Note:  All passport applicants taken in SPS must be sent to the Consulate in Tegucigalpa for adjudication; therefore, applications taken in SPS, if approved, will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to be returned to the applicant.  U.S. citizens who need to renew their passports for immediate travel should apply directly at the Consulate in Tegucigalpa.

Payment for Services at the US Citizens Services Office in San Pedro Sula

All payments must be made directly to Banco Atlantida and Cargo Expreso once the Consular Agent accepts the application.

The U.S. Citizens Services Office will not handle visa requests or inquiries.  Information on how to apply for visas is located on the Embassy's website at honduras.usembassy.gov.
