Virtual Consulate Hosts First Video Conference with San Pedro Sula

Ambassador Ford "Optimistic" in the future of Honduras

Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.  August 18.  Ambassador Charles Ford spoke to a San Pedro Sula business group today by video conference on the major opportunities and challenges facing Honduras today.  Oscar Galeano represented the Cortes business group.  The Virtual Consulate is planning a series of video conferences and internet chat sessions in the near future.  (press coverage, in Spanish)

 Fuel Bid

Comment period closes for national fuel bid solicitiation

Tegucigalpa.  August 9.  As a ten working day comment period for the national fuel bid terms of reference came to a close August 9, the Honduran government moved to incorporate the comments into the draft documents.  The national fuel bid will solicit offers to supply all of Honduras' fuel needs for one year, estimated at around 15 million barrels of refined fuel.  Potential bidders and interested groups used the comment period to suggest improvements or changes in the bid documents.  (fuel bid documents), (U.S. Embassy comments)
